Build-in RedLook, the cutting-edge in Continuous Monitoring of unmanned sites for gas leaks, flame, intrusion, hot points and much more

SENSIA is proud to announce the full integration and development of the Build-in RedLook solution based on SENSIA’s RedLook thermal cameras and software for advanced image processing.

Build-in RedLook is the latest step-forward in Continuous Monitoring of Gas Sites. Now, RedLook perfectly match the requirement of unmanned Oil & Gas Sites, reaching an unprecedent level of safety and environmental respect.

New features of RedLook

  • Fit for purpose design: Continuous Monitoring of unmanned Gas sites
  • Self-powered by PV panels
  • Wireless transmission of alarms (multiple options) and multicast video streaming in real time
  • Edge Computing
  • Multiple options of connectivity to third party systems: dry contacts, 4-20 mA, Modbus, OPC….
  • Exclusive combination of Methane Laser (LEL·m) and Optical Gas Imaging (methane emission rate)
  • Simplicity: Costless installation and commissioning
  • On-line configuration and maintenance
  • ATEX certified
  • Simultaneous detection of: Gas Leaks, LEL, Flame, Intrusion, hot & cold points/components and many more.
  • Extended temperature range of operation

Build-in RedLook also involved the full development, integration and testing of the SENSIA Methane Laser. This instrument, based on the TDLAS (Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy) technique is intended to work as an extension of SENSIA’s thermal cameras for an increased performance in methane detection and quantification, due to the combination of two different technologies simultaneously. By these means, RedLook is capable to provide a double-check confirmation of the detection, by measuring in two different wavelengths with two complementary technologies and achieving virtually zero false alarms.

During the whole project, and despite the limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, SENSIA was able to carry out multiple piloting campaigns around the world. The combined efforts between SENSIA and our partners allowed to deploy different configurations of RedLook system on real facilities such as Natural Gas extraction plants and Regulation and Measurement Stations, among others.

For this purpose, SENSIA delivered the required equipment for each campaign adapted to the different facilities and tests to be carried out and enabled a Data Monitoring Control Room on its facilities to provide 24/7 remote support to the partners involved in piloting campaigns around the world. From this control room SENSIA provided the required assistance for an adequate installation, configuration, and commissioning of the Build-in RedLook equipment so all systems were able to operate at their highest rate of performance.

  • Methane Leak detection limit: 80-100 gr/hr @ 35m  |  200-350 gr/hr @ 50m
  • False positives rate: 1 alarm a month
