SENSIA, based in Madrid, has not been immune to the crisis and has decided to contribute its greatest value in the fight against the virus: excellence in thermography and radiometry applied to intelligent IR monitoring systems.
Early detection of a positive case can dramatically restrict the spread of the virus and, therefore, the costs and suffering associated with it. With this in mind, the company has concentrated its efforts on developing an accurate and reliable solution for fever screening: HIGIA.
HIGIA is a useful solution for the detection of potentially positive cases. This solution based on thermal imaging, allows to automatically detect and alert the person who stands out from the rest by an abnormal body temperature. HIGIA consists of 3 elements:
- HIGIA thermal camera
- Temperature reference device.
- Control and display PC, with SENSIA’s RedLook software
This solution has been designed based on the IEC standard for medical imaging equipment IEC 80601-2-78:2019.
The person to be assessed must position himself in the camera’s field of view (where the temperature reference device is also visible) and remain there for 5 seconds. HIGIA will measure the temperature with an accuracy of +/-0.2°C, and if the subject exceeds the set limit, it will automatically alert of the situation.
