How we started
SENSIA was founded in 2008 as a spin-off from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), with the aim of bringing to market the knowledge generated in the field of infrared detection and thermal imaging. From its inception, the company focused on the design of intelligent optronic sensors, combining its own infrared imaging technology with advanced embedded analysis capabilities based on AI.
Where we are today
What began as a technological vision has evolved into intelligent infrared imaging solutions that combine high-performance hardware (sensors and edge computing capabilities) and advanced analytics, helping industries operate more safely, efficiently and sustainably.
Today, SENSIA systems are used in more than 50 countries, and our collaborations extend across sectors including oil & gas, industrial processing, defense and security, as well as other demanding operational environments.
Our technology continues to be fully designed, engineered and manufactured in-house. By combining high-performance infrared cameras with RedLook, our AI-based analytics platform, our systems are capable of autonomous operation and real-time alert generation with exceptional accuracy, even at long-range distances. But what really sets SENSIA apart is the multifunctionality, integrability and scalability of our systems, together with the reliability, data transparency and cost-effectiveness that industry demands.
Even though nowadays SENSIA is widely recognized as a leader in Smart Optical Gas Imaging (continuous monitoring and handheld), our solutions are inherently multifunctional. In addition to gas leak detection and quantification, they can support applications such as flame detection, surveillance, tank level monitoring, flare monitoring and more.
