SENSIA has succeeded in overcoming H2020 SME Instrument Phase 1. This European Program seeks to boost the best strategic plans of innovatives SMEs, thanks to which SENSIA will develop “First low cost handheld infrared camera for fugitive emissions, early detection and location, increasing energy efficiency in industrial plants, infrastructures and utilities” project.
SO2 gas leak detection survey at zinc production facilities in San Juan de Nieva, Asturias. This work was carried out using an infrared camera specially designed by SENSIA, along with exclusive SO2 detection algorithms. It was one of the first steps before coming up with Gas Sensing System for SO2, SENSIA’s optical gas imaging.
For this work, SENSIA developed an innovative system for natural gas leaks detection. The goal was to combine best features of unattended detection (from point detectors) and leaks location from infrared cameras: a 24/7 monitoring semi-autonomous system able to warning and help an operator to detect the leak at its source.
Gas Sensing System for SF6 can be used as a handheld system for punctual inspections, in which an operator carry out a visual inspection of the facilities, circuit, electric installation, etc. from a safe distance or as a fixed system for constant monitoring.
