AIRBUS adopts SENSIA’s Optical Gas Imaging technology

AIRBUS DS relies on SENSIA’s Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) Technology to monitor the leaktightness of the different fluid systems within their aircrafts.

An early detection of the leakages can dramatically reduce costs of Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) tasks. Currently, aircraft companies use several standard leak detection procedures on their airplanes, but they are very time consuming.

AIRBUS DS has decided to sort out the problem using SENSIA’s innovative technology:  groundbreaking infrared spectral imaging for leakages detection. The approach consists on introducing a trace gas through the different aircraft’s systems and detecting any eventual leak with SENSIA’s OGI.  Outcome: clear and intuitive IR image to determine the exact location of the leak and to evaluate its magnitude.

Thanks to this methodology, not only the visualization of large surfaces will have a great impact in terms of reducing inspection times. Also, SENSIA’s OGI provides high accuracy and sensitivity to detect ultra-slight leaks.

This contract with the aerospace giant, has positioned SENSIA as a reference in ad-hoc infrared engineering solutions.
